미 공군에서 B-1 랜서의 공대공 능력 부여를 검토 중?

The B-1R is a proposed upgrade of existing B-1B aircraft.[143] The B-1R (R for “regional”) would be fitted
with advanced radars, air-to-air missiles, and new Pratt & Whitney F119 engines. This variant would have a
top speed of Mach 2.2, but with 20% less range.
Existing external hardpoints would be modified to allow multiple conventional weapons to be carried,
increasing overall loadout. For air-to-air defense, an Active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar would
be added and some existing hardpoints modified to carry air-to-air missiles. If needed the B-1R could
escape from unfavorable air-to-air encounters with its Mach 2+ speed. Few aircraft are currently capable of
sustained speeds over Mach 2.

- 공상이 아니지 싶습니다..
렌서만 단독 운영하는 것이 아니고 F-22 렙터와 콤비로해서 미사일 셔틀로 사용하려는 것일 겁니다.
예전에 몇대의 렙터가 고속의 스텔스 성능을 앞세워 적기를 조준하고 렌서가 미사일 셔틀로서 발사하는 작전으로 훈련시 수십대를 격추한 사례가 있습니다.
렙터도 스텔스 기능을 발휘하려면 내부 무장 밖에 사용 못하는데 그러면 미사일 갯수에 한계가 있습니다. 그리고 슈퍼크루징 기능을 이용하려면 배달부도 초음속 항속기능이 있어야죠.
