120mm 주포를 장비한 이탈리아 육군의 Centauro 120 입니다. 항공기를 사용해서 신속파견되는 병력에게는 주력전차 대용으로 쓸만한 지원화력이 될수있다고 여겨집니다.
센타우로에는 105mm 강선포를 탑재한 모델과 120mm 활강포를 탑재한 모델이있는데..사진은 120mm 활강포를 탑재한 형식입니다 센타우로는 Oto Melara사에서 개발한 120mm 탱크킬러건을 세계최초로 탑대한 강력한 장갑차입니다. 비록 저반동포이지만 2세대 APFSDS탄을 포함한 나토 표준 전차포탄을 사용하기때문에 화력은 무시할 수준이 아닙니다. 주력전차 수준의 정밀한 사격통제장치와 다른 장갑차와 비교할수 없는 강력한 화력을 고려하면 "바퀴달린 탱크"라고 해도 과장이 아닐것입니다.
엔진출력은 520마력이고 변속장치는 자동입니다. 앞바퀴 4개와 마지막 2개는 파워 스티어링 장치와 연결되어 있습니다.
우리도 해외의 평화유지 임무를 수행할 일이 많아지니..이런게 신속하게 공수가 가능하면서 화력이 강력한 장비가 있으면 쓸만하겠죠..그리고 장차 보병사단에 차륜형 장갑차가 배치되었을때도 일부차량은 이런 포탑을 탑재해서 화력지원용으로 사용할수도 있겠죠..

CENTAURO is highly mobile 8X8 wheeled Armored Combat Vehicle armed with a stabilized standard NATO 105-mm low recoil force rifled tank gun or a 120mm smooth bore tank gun. It fires standard NATO tank ammunition including 2nd generation APFSDS, while stationary or on the move, against moving or stationary targets by day and night.
The vehicle is powered by a 520-HP diesel engine coupled to a fully automatic transmission with five forward and two reverse gears.
Suspension is of the hydro-pneumatic type with powered steering on the front four and last two road wheels. Fire control system consist of a commander's stabilized panoramic day/night sight, a stabilized day/night with laser range finder periscope sight for the gunner, digital ballistic computer, sensors, muzzle reference system and control panels.
The ballistic computer performs all the fire computations, controls and manages all fire system operating modes.
The engine position, in the front of the vehicle, and the unique driveline (the "H" pattern) offers important advantages including:
?lower silhouette.
?better stability in cross country driving and/or while firing.
?enhanced driver protection.
?more standardized components in different Centauro versions.
?lower logistic costs.
Centauro is the world's first armored combat vehicle with a 120mm "tank killer" gun system developed exclusively by Oto Melara, the HITFACT 120MM (also available in 105mm version).
HITFACT 105/120 mm - LOW RECOIL FORCE TUR for MEDIUM and LIGHT VEHICLES Three-man, power operated turret armed with a 120 mm, 45 caliber or 105 mm, 52 caliber low-recoil-force gun, intended for installation on light and medium weight tanks and wheeled or tracked tank destroyers.
Due to its light weight and low recoil force, the turret can provide the fire power of a main battle tank with great accuracy, without impairing the tactical and strategic characteristics of mobility of the vehicles.
The auto-frettaged gun is fitted with thermal jacket and bore evacuator. A hydraulic, recoil-counter-recoil system and a multi-baffle muzzle brake of high efficiency minimize the recoil force and prevent any excessive stress on the vehicle structure.
The turret fire power impairs or destroys hostile tanks at significant ranges. The gun is controlled by a FCS including a gunner's self-stabilized day and night IR thermal camera periscope with integral laser rangefinder. The commander can control the turret and gun movements and can search the battlefield with the remotely controlled ToT with IR TV camera and 7.62 machine gun. The ToT can be also controlled by the gunner (option).
The HITFACT?FCS includes the digital data processing computer HITFIST? with associated control panels; the turret servos are all electric (two-axis stabilization) with brushless motors.
Target search, detection and identification are performed by the commander, independently from the turret traversing movements.
The auxiliary armament consists of a coaxial, 7.62 machine gun, a 7.62 machine gun mounted on the ToT and an AA pintle mounted 12.7 mm (optional).
Four electrically operated multiband smoke screen ammunition dischargers, on either side of the turret, complete the auxiliary armament.
Turret armor protection can be enhanced with optional add-on panels with multi-hit capability.
