U.S. Marine LCpl. Christian Schwamberger from Clearwater, FL. looks through a periscope to avoid being shot by an insurgent sniper while on a rooftop position in Ramadi on January 28, 2007 in Iraq's Anbar province. Marines from A Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment and Iraqi police searched residents of a neighborhood while looking for weapons and insurgents. Meanwhile in Washington, tens of thousands of protesters demonstrated against the war, demanding the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
