On Jan 30:th, 25 students from 7 nations arrived, of which the majority was quite used to snow, but not the cold.

The first week was spent on basic skills like handling the Swedish Assault Rifle, different firing positions while on skis, actions on contact etc. The week ended with a well fare day

The second week was a five-day Field Exercise (FX) where the squads were Light Infantry on a peace-enforcing mission. The emphasis during the FX was three different Live Fire Exercises - the last one a platoon raid, which was successfully carried out.

The course ended with a well deserved three-course meal, and a simple graduation ceremony.

The weather during the course was unusually warm during the first week, but on the first day of the FX the temperature dropped to - 35 Celsius on some places along the infiltration route.

Feedback

According to the written and oral feedback from the participants, the course was a great success.

But it was not perfect, so based on the feedback we will make some minor changes for the course 2007:

?/font>More ski technique during the first week.

?/font>More support by over-snow vehicles, in order to reduce the number of kilometers the participants has to pull the "pulka" (sled). This will also free time to do things more correctly.

?/font>Rotation of squad leaders during the FX, so everybody has the opportunity to practice leadership in Cold Weather.
