These trucks transport troops, supplies, ammunition, materials, construction items, etc. These trucks also tow many types of trailers, artillery guns and vans. Almost all Marine Corps units are equipped with five-ton trucks. The primary truck transport asset of the Marine Corps, it is available in cargo, dump, tractor and wrecker configurations.

>The M923 dropside cargo truck is designed to transport personnel and supplies over all types of roads and terrain, and in all weather conditions. It is capable of fording thirty inches without the fording kit and seventy-eight inches with the fording kit. The vehicle's cargo bed is equipped with hinged steel sides that fold down for ease of loading and unloading operations.

>The only difference between the M923 and the M925 is the M925 has a front mounted winch. The capacity of the winch on the M925 is 20,000 pounds. The maximum payload for the vehicle is 20,000 pounds highway and 10,000 pounds cross-country. The maximum towed load for the vehicles is 30,000 pounds highway and 15,000 pounds cross country.
