미해군 강습상륙함 USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), USS Shreveport (LPD 12), USS Tortuga (LSD 46), rescue and salvage ship USS Grapple (ARS 53)함등 4척의 대형함들이 현재 구호활동중인 USS Bataan (LHD 5)와 함께 탑재중인 LCU와 대형헬기등을 통해 허리케인 Katrina로부터 극심한 피해를 입은 New Orleans지역의 구호활동을 위해 멕시코만으로 급파되어 임무를 시작했습니다.
