>>(Edited for style) Today at Dassault Aviation’s Bordeaux-Merignac facility Charles Edelstenne, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, handed over Rafale C102, the first production single-seat F2 standard Rafale, to French Air Force. The first Rafale single-seater to leave the Merignac plant’s production line was Rafale C101, which was delivered to the Istres flight test center two years ago. There, it is taking part in development of the F2 and F3 standards, along with the two first two-seater Rafales, B301 and B302. Thus, Rafale C102 is the first production single-seat F2 standard Rafale to be delivered to French Air Force.

>>The same day, Rafale C102 flew to CEAM in Mont-de-Marsan, where four two-seater Rafales (B303 to B306) are already operational. Rafale C102 will be used for pilot training to the F2 standard. Fully multipurpose, this F2 standard provides the aircraft with its true omnirole capability for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. By the end of year 2005, 15 Rafales should be operational in the French Air Force.
