Guides Cavalry (10 Cavalry) of the Pakistan Army was formally given Al-Khalid Tanks in an impressive ceremony at HIT grounds Taxila on 23 September, 2004. The ceremony was presided over by General M. Yusaf Khan. A batch of 44 Al-Khalids was handed over to Guides Cavalry. Apart from the 44 Al-Khalids, 60 Al-Zarrar and 40 Saad, Sakb and Talha APC's were also handed over to Pakistan Army as well. With this lot, Pakistan Army has 88 Al-Khalids (31 Cavalry & Guides) as well as 4 regiments of Al-Zarrar MBT's.

1. Al-Khalid, up close and personal.

2~3. All 44 Al-Khalid tanks engines being stated for the General Salaam (General Salute) to the VCOAS. The sound of 52,800 HP Roaring was a feast to the ears. The top 5 tanks (4 Squadron Commanders and 1 CO) will come forward for the salute.

4. General Yusaf taking the inspection of the Al-Khalid tanks. Accompanying him in the jeep are Maj. Gen. Israr Ghumman (Chairman HIT) and Lt. Col. Aziz. The jawans in the Black Dungrees are Guides and the ones in Khaki are HIT.

5. General Yusaf taking the inspection of the APC. Second picture shows an impressive sight of 40 Saad and 20 Sakb (commander post) APC's. All the vehicles are painted in desert brown.
