>Type 033 (Romeo Class) Diesel-Electric Submarine
>The Type 033 is a Chinese copy of the Soviet Romeo class diesel-electric torpedo submarine. A total of 84 boats were built from 1962 to 1984, with few still remaining in service for training and surveillance purposes today. A number of Type 033 submarines have been sealed in caves for reserve, and can be restored to service condition in short period. All Type 033 submarines are expected to be retired from service by 2010.
