East Timor (July 20, 2008) South Korean Navy Lt. Michael Sim, right, from Seoul, Korea, and Brian Huh, a University of California, San Diego pre-dental student, from Santa Monica, Calif., extract a patient's tooth at a Pacific Partnership dental civic action project. Pacific Partnership is a four-month deployment by Mercy to assist the governments of participating nations with medical, dental and construction civic assistance programs.

Michael Sim performs a dental procedure on a Timorese patient aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). Sim joined the Mercy crew to support the Pacific Partnership 2008 mission. Pacific Partnership is a four-month deployment by Mercy to assist the governments of participating nations with medical, dental and construction civic assistance programs.
