2012년 유지비가 업데이트 되었습니다. 

독일 군의 비행 움직임은 소티랑 다른 개념으로 공항내 이착륙 훈련을 포함하는 방식입니다. 

74 전투비행단이 F-4/유로파이터 혼성비행단에서 유로파이터 비행단으로 변경된 2010년에는 파일럿들의 전환훈련을 위해서인지 터치 엔 고만 시키고 실 비행은 매우 적은 시간만 시킨 상태입니다. 

본격적인 운영이 시작된 2011년은 유로파이터 유지비 문제가 터진 시기로 시간당 유지비도 정점을 찍었었고, 이때부터 4+1개국 공동 PBL 계약 등 유지비 절감 노력에 들어갑니다. 

2012년은 그 노력이 어느정도 성과를 거둬 전년 대비 약 1만 유로의 유지비를 감소 시킬 수 있었습니다. 

비행 시간도 점차 늘고 있고요.

연합훈련(Operation Western Zephyr)에 참가한 유로파이터는 9대이며, 180명의 지원병력이 필요했다. 

비용은 55만 파운드(9억5,533만9,000 원) 가량으로 추정된다.

영국 조달 프로젝트의 문제점을 지적하면서 안좋은 예로 유로파이터를, 본받아야 할 좋은 예로 f-16을 언급 

If I may, I will talk about the complications in procurement projects that can cause costs to increase. The hon. Member for Dunfermline and West Fife gave the example of the Typhoon and said how the costs had ratcheted up. However, the F-16 is now seen as one of the most successful aircraft in the world, if the hon. Gentleman wishes to listen. It went through a torrid procurement process, but the unit cost has now shrunk because the problems have been removed and enough units have been sold to drive the price down. We are just beginning to grasp the nettle and we need to ensure that we can sell such equipment across the world.

덤으로 미국 조달 프로젝트의 최대의 실패작은 f-35라고 지적

유로파이터는 지상의 아무것도 공격할 수 없는 냉전시대의 유물이며, (다국적 전투기라서) 각 국가마다 별도의 비행 및 무기 제어 프로그램을 개발중이다. 

이는 시스템을 너무나 복잡하게 만들고 있으며, 미사일 하나 다는 것도 너무 복잡하고 비용이 많이 들며, 시간이 걸리게 한다. 

이것이 유로파이터가 공대공 이외의 공대지 능력을 확보하는 것이 지연되는 이유이다.

(... 설마 각 국가마다 비행 및 무장 프로그램이 별도일 줄은 상상도 못했는대...-_-)

The Typhoon has also been mentioned many times: an example of procuring for the last war rather than looking ahead. It is a cold war fighter plane that is unable to hit anything on the ground. Let me finish this point about the Typhoon; then I will be delighted to give way. Unlike other aircraft of its generation, the Typhoon has a flight control system designed by one country and a weapons release system designed by another. That means that every time a missile system upgrade is required, two complex computer

systems have to be reconciled, which makes it far too complicated and costly to do any major upgrades to the software or the missiles. That is why there is a delay in converting the Typhoon from an air-to-air aircraft to a multi-role aircraft with ground attack capability.
